Sketchbook Assignments (20 points each):
You will have one week to complete your sketchbook assignments. There will be a new assignment each week.
(You may and should use your sketchbook to jot down ideas and practice)
Assignment: Minimum of 3, 10-15 minute sketches of 1 still life at different angles.
Due February 20th, 2018
*Create your own still life and draw it using the value skills you have developed in the past couple weeks. Make sure you have a good light source! You may need to set up a lamp or spotlight to define multiple values on your subject. You can use fruit, shoes, plants, etc. Get creative!
Sketchbook Assignment #2
Draw 1 Figure or large object using contour lines, cross contour lines, and by filling the entire space.
Sketchbook Assignment #3
Beginning of class!
Measure three 3"X6" rectangles. In each rectangle draw a horizon line that is
1. lower on the page, 2. in the center of the page, and 3. higher on the page.
You will then create 3 detailed sketches in 2-point perspective.
You will need a ruler or something with a straight edge for this assignment.
Sketchbook Assignment #4
Beginning of Class!
Using your new knowledge of figure drawing, proportions and foreshortening, draw a well developed (refer to sketchbook rubric) image of a friend, family member, or work colleague.
You may take an image of this person if you do not have time to sit with them, however, drawing from real life is always best!
The presentation is located under the about section of your classroom page for you to reference.
***REMEMBER to draw what you see, not what you think you see!
